Aneke ready for Leopards

Jude Aneke is in line to start for Warri Wolves in Sunday’s 2nd leg, round of 16 Caf Confederation Cup game against South African club, Black Leopards at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, in Polokwane.

Aneke hobbled off inside the first 15 minutes of the 1st leg which Wolves won 3-1 but the club’s trainer, Maurice Cooreman was less than impressed with the attacker’s contributions in the game.

Cooreman had strong words for Aneke whom he accused of not playing at the peak of his powers and subsequently told SuperSpot.com that the player’s ‘level has dropped’.

“This is not the same Jude Aneke that I used to know at (former club) Kaduna United. He thinks that he is a star when he has not achieved anything and his level has dropped,”

“I am not even sure he was injured (in the 1st leg against Black Leopards). I am not happy with him,” a visibly angry Cooreman said.

The striker has now made a rapid recovery and even played the final 5 minutes as Warri Wolves defeated Wolves feeders 3-0 to win the Delta State Federation Cup on May 6.

The Warri Wolves team has been settling in nicely in South Africa after landing at the Polokwane International Airport at about 7.25 local time on Thursday.

The Nigerian team is being lodged at the Masana Lodge (about five minutes drive from the match venue).

Wolves will have its first workout on Friday at 2:00pm at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
