Ronaldinho calls in police over video
Brazilian striker Ronaldinho has called in police to investigate a video that was posted on the internet and allegedly shows him masturbating.
Ronaldinho, currently at Brazilian club Flamengo, said in a statement Friday that the "offensive, bad-taste" video is a "sham." He also denounced that hackers had got into his official website.
The video in question was available for a few hours Thursday, but it was later removed by YouTube for having inappropriate content. The footage was apparently recorded by a webcam and it was of poor quality, making it difficult to confirm its authenticity.
The issue made waves in Brazil, where former Barcelona superstar Ronaldinho has not scored a goal in 11 matches and is increasingly resisted by Flamengo fans.
But Flamengo coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo, for one, appeared to take the incident lightly. He stressed he was not in charge of keeping watch over his players off the pitch, and simply asked reporters Thursday whether any of them had actually seen the video.
"How big is it?" Luxemburgo asked, in an obvious reference to Ronaldinho's genitals.
