Zebras without Gabonamong for SA clash
Zebras’ head coach Stanley Tshosane says his side will have to do without Mogogi Gabonamong of SuperSport United who has failed to report for camp this week.
The Zebras host Bafana Bafana in the 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifier at the 8 000 seater UB Stadium in Gaborone on Saturday afternoon.
Gabonamong was excused from the Zebras’ opening qualifier against Central African Republic (CAR) at the weekend due to a family bereavement and was supposed to join the team this week.
"We’ve not been able to get hold of Mogogi and there is nothing we can do. Life has to go on though we would have liked to have him for this encounter (against Bafana)," says Tshosane.
Even BFA chief executive officer Duncan Kgame was unable to tell the whereabouts of Gabonamong during a press briefing this morning. This is not the first time Gabonamong has ditched the Zebras at a crucial moment.
Meanwhile, Tshosane says his team is fully focused on the weekend’s game. Three players who did not travel to CAR, captain Mompati Thuma, Jomo Moatlhaping and Patrick Motsepe have joined the squad. Enterprising midfielder Mogakolodi Ngele who missed the encounter due to harmstring injury started training on Tuesday morning.
