Dikgacoi returns for Bafana

Kagisho Dikgacoi will make a return to the Bafana Bafana squad when new coach Gordon Igesund names his selection for Brazil and Mozambique on Thursday.

The names of Kgosi Ntlhe and Kamohelo Mokotjo for Igesund’s first squad have already been leaked by their respective European clubs, and now English Championship side Crystal Palace have confirmed that Dikgacoi will link up with Bafana Bafana.

Dikgacoi has featured in just five of Bafana’s last 15 internationals as he battled with injury, missing the June World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and Botswana.

The last time he wore the national team jersey was in the 0-0 draw with Senegal in February, while his last competitive fixture was in June 2011 in the 0-0 2012 Africa Cup of Nations draw against Egypt in Cairo. In total he has 44 international appearances.

Dikgacoi has been in good form for Palace so far this season, if even the club have lost all three of their Championship games so far.

South Africa take on Brazil in a friendly international in Sao Paulo on September 7, before returning home for a friendly with Mozambique in Mbombela on September 11.
