Khumalo gets debut confirmation

Bafana Bafana centre-back Bongani Khumalo could make his competitive debut for Greek side PAOK in their season opener against newly-promoted Panthrakikos on the weekend of August 25/26.

Khumalo recently joined the club on loan from English Premiership Tottenham Hotspur, and just days later was involved in a friendly against Romanian side FC Otelul Galati as he was thrown into the thick of the action.

The fixtures for the new 2012/13 Greek Super League season have now been announced, giving PAOK a gentle start at home to the newly-promoted side.

However, should South African striker Calvin Kadi return to Veria, the team he helped win promotion last season, they will face a baptism of fire at home to champions Olympiakos. Kadi is in talks with Veria after netting 17 goals in 31 starts for them in the second division.

Meanwhile, Khumalo and PAOK continued their Dutch tour with a 2-0 win over French Ligue 2 side Mons on Saturday.

Still to come this week are matches against local side FC Zwolle (Wednesday) and Spanish La Liga club Mallorca (Saturday).
