Anele misses start of club's training
Belgian club Racing Genk are heading off for pre-season preparations in the Netherlands without their South African international defender Anele Ngcongca.
He is still in South Africa on holiday following three weeks of international duty at the end of the season.
Ngcongca has had no break since finishing the last Belgian campaign, returning home to play two matches for Bafana Bafana at the start of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers and then sitting on the bench for the friendly against Gabon on June 15.
He will have more rest before joining up with his teammates, who have headed to Tegelen for training and a series of warm-up matches against Dutch opponents.
It will be the 24-year-old Ngcongca’s fifth season at Genk, where he won the league title in 2011. He was scouted from the now-defunct FC Fortune in the second tier of South African professional football.
The Gugulethu-born fullback has been linked with a transfer away from Genk on several occasions, mostly to Turkish clubs but recently said he was only interested in playing in a more high profile European country.
