Brazil predict 'great game' vs Bafana
Brazilian Football Confederation president Jose Maria Marin has predicted a "great game" when Bafana Bafana play their historic friendly international in Sao Paulo on September 7.
The fixture was announced last week and will the first time that South Africa have played in Brazil.
Marin has admitted that Bafana were not Brazil’s first choice of opponent, they were left scrambling after Chile withdrew from a friendly set for that date.
But he is happy all the same to be receiving the South Africans at the Morumbi Stadium.
"They have never played in Brazil, we were struggling for an opponent because of the [2014 Fifa World Cup] qualifying. It will be a good opponent and a great game," Marin said.
Marin also confirmed that the Brazilians will play against China on September 11.
The Samba Stars’ next fixture is in Europe though as they take on Sweden in Stockholm on August 15. South African have no fixtures before their Brazilian showdown, having cancelled plans for a friendly in the August Fifa calendar.
