NFF in time change battle with Tunisia FA

The Nigeria Football Federation have said there will be no change in the kickoff time for next month's World Cup qualifier against Tunisia in Abuja.

The NFF had scheduled the game for 5pm local time, but Tunisia officials wanted a change to 20h00, saying most of their players, who are Muslims, would be observing the Ramadan fast.

NFF chief media officer Ademola Olajire told Complete Sports that the request had been turned down.

"We contacted Fifa on the timing of the match weeks back and suddenly they want it reverted again, that’s impossible," he said.

The Tunisians are reported to have written to Fifa to have the kickoff time moved, but that can only happen with the consent of the host association.

Nigeria currently trail the North Africans by two points in the race to South Africa 2010, and desperately need a win to put their noses in front.
