Eto'o rejects daughter from Italian woman
ETO'O REJECTS INTERVIEW ABOUT DAUGHTER BORN OUT OF WEDLOCK
Inter Milan have sided up with their striker Samuel Eto'o after
a television show earlier this week tried to interview the
footballer about a daughter he had from an Italian woman.
The web site of the Italian champions wrote late Friday that
"Inter are displeased for the violent media manipulation of their
player's privacy and support (him), feeling bitter about the sad
incident."
A reporter from Striscia la Notizia, (the news crawl), a
satirical newscast from the private network Canale 5, approached
the Cameroon footballer to give him a video-message and a football
signed by the seven-year-old daughter, who lives in Cagliari.
Eto'o did not answer any question and refused to take the items.
Quotidiano.net reported that Eto'o met the girl for the first
time in September, when Inter played a Serie A game at Cagliari.
The girl's mother said that "all that could be obtained through
the law has been obtained. Unfortunately, however, the law cannot
force a father to meet and spend time with his daughter."
The player acknowledged the paternity only after a DNA test
mandated by a judge, who ruled that the player pay 3,000 euros a
month in alimony. Eto'o, 28, is married to an Ivorian woman and has
three daughters.
