Amrouche set for FKF talks

Belgian coach Adel Amrouche is set to arrive in Nairobi on January 26 for talks with Football Kenya Federation chairman Sam Nyamweya over the vacant job of Harambee Stars coach.

FKF chairman Sam Nyamweya who has been in contact with the Belgian tactician sent him an invite for talks to which he obliged.

Amrouche who has vast experience in Africa having coached in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Burundi is optimistic that he has what it takes to lead Stars to greater heights.

"I am very excited to becoming to Kenya a country with vast talented players with a lot of potential. I have great knowledge about Kenyan football and I believe I have the capacity to drive Harambee stars to greater heights."

"FKF chairman Nyamweya is a reasonable man and I have seen his genuine passion for football and that is why I will be coming to discuss the possibilities available to help Harambee Stars in their World cup qualifying matches," Adel told supersport.com from his base in Belgium.

He is a holder of a UEFA professional diploma and has got Masters in Scientific Sports Research from France University and is also a football instructor in Brussels.

Amrouche has had a chequered career in Africa where he coached DR Congo side Motema Pembe for three years, Equitorial Guinea national team, clubs in Ukraine, Belgium and Azerbaijan before finally moving to Burundi national team where he was coach for five years.

He also works as a football analyst in big football events for Arabic TV and Al Jazeera sports.
