Draw helps Anele finish top
Anele Ngcongca helped his Genk side finish top of Group I in the Uefa Europa League after a 0-0 draw at home to Swiss side Basle.
The point was enough for the Belgian outfit to head the pool and Ngcongca had another fine game at centre-back.
They have now qualified for the knockout stages for the first time in the Europa League and will now await the draw for that stage of the competition to be made on December 20.
May Mahlangu set up the first goal as Helsingborg finished third in Group L with an excellent 3-1 away win at Dutch side FC Twente.
It may have been a disappointing campaign for the Swedes, but they finished on a high in what could potentially be Mahlangu’s final game for the club if he gets his wish to move away in January.
South African-born Dani Amos was in goal for Israeli side Ironi Kiryat Shmona as they lost 2-0 at French Ligue 1 side Lyon.
