Terry denies FA charge of racial abuse
Chelsea captain John Terry has denied the English Football Association charge of racially abusing Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand during a match last year.
The FA said on their website on Friday that Terry has requested a personal hearing, the date of which has yet to be set.
Terry was cleared in a British court of law in July of racially abusing Ferdinand in a Premier League match last October. But the FA said that it had considered evidence from the trial before charging the England defender.
The FA says Terry is alleged to have included "a reference to ethnic origin and/or color and/or race," but he "remains available to play for England" while the charge is still to be heard.
