p> Former Kotoko boss Maxwell Konadu has been appointed the temporary head coach of Ghana’s Under 20 team, the Black Satellites and he led the side a resounding win against Egypt on Thursday. They won 3-0 at the Accra Stadium. <>
It meant the Satellites finished winners of the three-nation Under 20 tournament despite playing with ten men. The goals came from Heart of Lions' Benjamin Fadi, Seidu Salifu and Patrick Twumasi.
Twumasi was red-carded but Ghana will be buoyed after staying two and three points ahead of Namibia and Egypt respectively.
Preparation
The Ghana FA put together the tournament in collaboration with the three nations in anticipation of the start of the Africa Youth Championship qualifiers later this month. Maxwell Konadu, reigning Ghana Premier League winner doubles as the assistant boss of the senior national team as well, and he took over the Satellites job after Orlando Wellington resigned.
Konadu takes immediate charge of the team until a substantive replacement is found. His task will be to get a cohesive team together in time for the team's African Youth Championships qualifier against Uganda in just over a fortnight. Charles 'CK' Akunnor will stay on as the assistant coach, with Prince Yaw Owusu as a member of its technical team.
