Frankfurt return to Bundesliga
Eintracht Frankfurt have bounced straight back up into Germany's top division, joining Greuther Fuerth as the two teams now certain of promotion from the second division.
Frankfurt clinched promotion with a 3-0 victory at bottom club Alemannia Aachen Monday evening which has put them top of the table on goal difference with two matches remaining.
Neither Frankfurt nor Fuerth can now be dislodged from the two promotion places, both enjoying an eight-point lead over Fortuna Dusseldorf who are fighting for the relegation/promotion play-off spot.
Armin Veh, who took over as coach after relegation last season, has meanwhile left his future at the club open.
Veh said after the victory he wanted time to consider his future. However, club sports director Bruno Huebner said he believed the 51-year-old former VfB Stuttgart, Wolfsburg and SV Hamburg coach would sign a new contract.
"I have received some signals and I am confident we will continue with Veh," he said.
