Cameroon-Gabon rescheduled

The 2014 African Nations Championship qualifying match between Cameroon and Gabon has once again been postponed following a new development in the Cameroonian football crisis.

Fifa on Monday lifted a temporary suspension imposed on Cameroon for government meddling in the affairs of the Football Federation, giving the country’s teams the opportunity to resume international competitions.

Initially scheduled for July 6, the meeting was put off till a later date but Caf now says the two sides can now face off with each other during the weekend of July 26, 27 and 28 for the first leg in Cameroon.

The reverse fixture will now take place during the weekend of August 9, 10 and 11 in Gabon.

The winner in aggregate of both fixtures will qualify to the finals of the tournament holding in South Africa next year.
