Akwa Ibom and Lagos will go head-to-head in the final of the women's football event at the ongoing Nigerian National Sports Festival on Saturday.
In the first semifinal, Lagos overran a hapless Osun team 5-0 at the Agege Stadium.
Head coach of the Lagos team, Ann Agumanu-Chiejine, told supersport.com that their target of winning the football gold in the women's event is still intact and within sight.
"We have underscored since the start of the sports festival that our target remains to win gold in women's football. It was a good game for us and we will continue to work hard to achieve our target which is just one match away," she said.
Akwa Ibom, however, had to take a difficult route to the football gold match as they beat 3-0 Edo via penalties.
Impressive Akwa Ibom striker, Mfreke Hope John, who missed a spot kick, was happy with the outcome and is looking forward to the final against Lagos.
"I'm happy because this will be my first time to play in the final. I believe we will do well in the final but I know it will be tough because Lagos has been good," she remarked.
