Caf unveils best team award nominees
CAF on Tuesday published the nominees for the remaining categories of the 2012 GLO-CAF Awards which are the best male and female national teams and the most promising talent awards.
African champions Zambia, the continent’s number one team Ivory Coast, 2013 Africa Cup of Nations debutants Cape Verde and Central African Republic have been nominated for the best National Team award.
Newly crowned African Women’s Champions Equatorial Guinea, Ghana’s U-17 team that won bronze in the 2012 FIFA World Cup and Nigeria’s Super Falcons will be vying for the best Women’s National Team of the Year award.
In the Most Promising Talent category, Egypt’s Mohamed Salah will be facing Senegalese striker Pape Moussa Konate and Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama.
CAF’s Media, Technical and Football committees will announce the top three nominees for each category after a vote. The winners will be made known at a ceremony scheduled for December 20 in Accra, Ghana.
