Six happy to have Adebayor
Togo coach Didier Six told reporters in the country’s capital Lome on Tuesday that he was very happy to have Emmanuel Adebayor back in the set up after the Tottenham forward spurned a number of invitations from the Frenchman.
According to the coach, the 28-year-old former Arsenal striker came to him on the eve of their friendly match against Burkina Faso in France, asking to be featured in second half.
Although the Sparrow Hawks lost 3-0 to the Stallions, Six said he was satisfied with the performance and the new spirit of his outfit, especially due to the presence of Adebayor.
“Adebayor’s presence will greatly motivate Togo team and this will arm us ahead of next month’s 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Gabon,” he said.
“I would be the greatest fool if I fail to include Adebayor on my list of players.”
The former Manchester City player had denounced the attitudes of some FA officials in issues relating to players’ security, safe transportation and accommodation, promising to willingly return to the team if there were improvements.
