Policemen hurt in Algerian violence
Seventeen Algerian policemen were hurt after crowd trouble at a football match in Bechar, 950km southwest of the capital Algiers, police sources said on Wednesday.
Violence was sparked during Tuesday night's match between second division JS Saoura and Bordj Bou-Arreridj, who were winning 1-0 at the time, the sources said, quoted by the APS news agency.
Fans, many of them youths, also went on the rampage outside the ground and police made several arrests.
