It was not us - Al Masry fans

A day after one of Egypt's worst sports tragedies that claimed more than 70 lives, Al Masry fans are finally talking about that fateful night. Guardedly they spoke with SuperSport.com.

One of them, Ahmed Smaer, was adamant saying "it was not us. There were strangers amongst us who incited the teenagers to respond to the Al Ahly banner that questioned their manhood.

"It was a war that had victims on both sides. Al Masry fans did not want this after all we won the game and wanted to celebrate that , we love football

However Waleed Ali, an Al Ahly, fan contradicted him and told SuperSport.com that Al Masry fans were simply brutal.

"They killed our friends on the pitch. I lost my best friend there and I want revenge" he said.

Investigations are ongoing, The EFA board has been gutted and the security forces have arrested as many as 47 people.
