Njie hails team unity
Cameroon forward Clinton Njie believes that unity was the key reason behind their Afcon title win on Sunday.
The Indomitable Lions beat Egypt 2-1 in Libreville to claim a fifth title, two behind the North Africans' haul of seven. "Players' unity was a key reason behind our success," Njie told beIN Sports post-game.
The Indomitable Lions came from behind with two second-half goals from substitute Nicolas Nkoulou and Vincent Aboubakar to a first cup since 2002.
"We weren't in our top form against Egypt in the first half and we weren't able to produce our best," Njie, who played two games in Gabon. "In the second half we were better and succeeded to dominate possession; scoring two goals," he added.
Cameroon will represent Africa at the FIFA Confederations Cup, which takes place in Russia from 17 June to 2 July.
