We must remain cool-headed - Traore

Alain Traore has urged his Burkina Faso teammates to “remain cool-headed” after they defied the odds and qualified for their first ever Africa Cup of Nations final.

The Stallions were the surprise package of the tournament when they finished as runners-up in a group that contained Ivory Coast and Togo, before eventually losing 1-0 to Nigeria in the final of the tournament.

For the better of his nation and his teammates, Traore has warned his colleagues to keep both feet firmly on the ground and continue building on the foundation planted in this tournament.

“Difficult times are ahead of us. Now everyone is going to be wary and a lot of people are going to wait for a chance to get even with us,” the star striker said.

“We must carry on in that direction and remain cool-headed. I was not on the field (due to injury) but I had to give them my support. We must take it easy and try to move forward all together.”
