Atsu replaces suspended Wakaso



Porto midfielder Christian Atsu is likely to replace banned Mubarak Wakaso in Ghana's starting line-up against Niger in an Africa Cup of Nations Group B tie on Monday.

Espanyol ace Wakaso will miss this west African clash after receiving his second booking against Mali on Thursday, when he revealed a religious slogan during his goal celebration.

He is also nursing a sore knee, but team officials say he will be fit for the quarterfinals, assuming the Black Stars qualify.

Atsu will be the only change from the team which started in a vital 1-0 win over Mali last Thursday.

The Porto player has been widely tipped to set the tournament in South Africa alight, but has struggled to make an impression after he was shackled in a 2-2 draw with the Democratic Republic of Congo in an opening group game.
