Burkina Faso relieved at Moses absence

The Burkina Faso side that pulled off an injury time draw with Nigeria in their opening group game were very relieved to see Victor Moses' name missing from the starting line-up. That's according to sub Ab Traore and Keeper Soulaman who spoke briefly with supersport.com at the Riverside Park Mall as the players strolled around.

In surprisingly fluent English they asked "what happened to Moses?" When told that the Chelsea winger was carrying an injury Traore looked to the heavens and said "oh we were glad when we did not see his name because man, he is very good and deadly".

Soulaman on his part thought that when Nigeria had possession towards the end and were heading to the corner flag "we thought they were going to go there and waste what little time that was left. So when we got the ball back we knew it was our last chance" the Asante Kotoko keeper spoke with a wide smile. The Burkina Faso players seemed really relaxed as they strolled around taking photos with the locals.

The Nigerian technical crew met with the board of the Nigeria Football Federation at a hotel in Nelspruit. The meeting that lasted a little under 2 hours ended with all parties coming out with smiles. At the end the NFF president Alhaji Maigari assured that "there was no pressure put on the crew to perform nor targets mandated to them"

Coach Keshi agreed also, saying "we are all working together and no issues at the moment"!

Nigeria take on Zambia in their next group game on Friday.
