Ivory Cost defender Souleymane Bamba says his side are raring to put up their best performance at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations following their recent disappointments.

The Elephants last lifted the cup in 1992, but they have twice fallen short in the final hurdle in recent years, losing to hosts Egypt in 2006 before going down against Zambia in 2012.

Nonetheless, the Trabzonspor player believes his side will be motivated to go all the way this time around as this is the last opportunity for some of the stalwarts to claim their gold medals.

“For people like Didier Drogba and Didier Zokora, this will be their last appearance in this competition,” Bamba told Fanatik.

“Therefore, they are motivated in a different way to win the cup.

“We have a very strong squad for this tournament made up of talented young players as well as experienced stars.”

Sabri Lamouchi’s side will start their campaign against Togo on January 22 before taking on Tunisia and Algeria to complete their Group D fixtures.
