SS Afcon Q&A with Mamadou Gaye

Join our #SSAfcon live chat with Soccer Africa Analyst and self-styled "Assasin" Mamadou Gaye on Friday at noon (CAT, SA, GMT+2)

Mamadou is on the SuperSport Afcon panel and has been in the eye of the storm with his predictions of doom for all other countries other than his native Ivory coast. This has not endeared him to fans of Botswana, Ghana and Zambia.

Mamadou has enjoyed the attention with Ivory Coast coasting to the finals, but they now face the rampaging Chipolopolo of Zambia in Sunday's final.

Here's your chance to lock horns with Mamadou. Give him a bit of his own medicine and interact with him online.

He tells SuperSport.com that "We (meaning Ivory Coast) will beat Zambia by 4-0. That's my prediction. All their heroics will be extinguished on Sunday"

Do you agree with Mamadou? Do you disagree? Post your questions here.

Questions and answers
castro asked:
MAMADOU THANKS, I THING U ARE TALKING TRUE. I AGREE WITH YOU.
@RealMamadouGaye answered:
Hi All,
Am please to see that most of the questions I received came from Zambia.Our team is the perfect balance of youth and experience.The elephants of Cote d"Ivoire are the number one rank team in Africa.The elephants are the only team in africa that won all their qualifiers games.The Elephants are the the only team that won all their games in this current afcon without conceding a goal..That is a reflection of a True Champion.Zambians themselves did not believe that they could reach the final.It is a big suprise for the Chipolopolo themselves to reach this far.Come sunday The Elephants will show them why they are number one in Africa and still unbeaten in this afcon.Concerning the Fallen Heroes of the Zambian National Team,it is not not a Zambian affair,but an african one.That's why I stiil blame CAF for having done nothing to date to honour thes proud african sons.Am still shock to see that no CAF official were with the Zambian team yesterday to lay flowers at the venue of the crash.
Youngson asked:
Mr Manadu, Mamadu or whatever they call you back in cote d''voire. You dared our God that if we win then we worship a living God. Therin lies your doom and curse as Ivorians. Your bile in the tongue is so vile that you have cursed your own country. Come Sunday, Zam bia lifts the AfCON 2012, in memory of the fallen Heroes!!!! Cant wait for the glorious manifestation of our LIVING GOD. HOSSANA IN THE HIGHEST
@RealMamadouGaye answered:
It is great to honour our fallen heroes.We are african and we must do it the proper way.I was shocked to see the abandon graves of the fallen heroes icovered by bush.The family of the fallen heroes were ignored.Many of their siblings left behind died of poverty and misery.
rodney asked:
Hi assasin think u disrespect southern african team if ivorians win on sunday I will go to work naked
@RealMamadouGaye answered:
Please take it easy,Cote D'Ivoire will take the Cup
Samuel Owusu-Yeboah asked:
Mr Gaye, what do you consider your major achievement in football? And what do you think makes you a ''Soccer Expert'' as opposed to a ''Soccer Critic''. To what extent do you control prejudice to strive for objectivity and fairness in your analyses?
@RealMamadouGaye answered:
I have a world cup silver medal won during the U20 in Nigeria 1999 with the Japanese team as member of the technical staff.I was also the liason officier of Bafana Bafana in Burkina Faso 1998,when we won silver
kafula asked:
WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOUR TEAM WILL PLAY THERE EASIEST GAME WITH US.........WATCH US
@RealMamadouGaye answered:
For me the most difficult game of the Elephants was against Mali.It was very phisycal and it was a west Afrcan derby.Zambian play the type of football that suit Cote d"Ivoire.Easy win for the Elephants
Davy Mweene asked:
you looked worried when zambia beat Ghana.....dont you think your casual players can be abset by zambia??????
@RealMamadouGaye answered:
Am not worried about any team.The Elephants are going to make history by been the first country to win the Afcon without conceiding a goal after winninig alll their matches.
Fhatuwani Visie Raphasha asked:
Hi Mamadou,
Firstly let me congratulations Zambia & Ivory Coast for reaching the AFcon final.
1. If Ivory Coast lost on Sunday do you think they should fire the couch? If yes, and why?
2. Since you are one of those who have been calling for Pitso’s resignation or been fired, whom do you should take over?
3. Do you think Bafana Bafana have enough depth to be the AFCON champion next year? If so, please give me five Top strikers we have in South Africa who are play their trade in the PSL and abroad.
4. Who do you think should be crown AFCON player of the tournament and why?
5. Last but not least I think Zambia will win 2-1…. God bless Katongo and Crew. Viva Zambia Viva!!!!
@RealMamadouGaye answered:
Under Pitso Bafana will be kicked out in the first round come Afcon 2013.South Africa have local coaches with great pedigree: Gavin,Gordon etc...
fyonse mukupa asked:
people have predicted against Zambia from the start but in Zambia football is played on the pitch and not on paper. Watch the games we have played remember we are unbeated and we play as a team. We are hungry for the Trophy. Analyse all you can. Come Sunday the Cup will be in Lusaka, Zambia. Favour is by our side.
@RealMamadouGaye answered:
Please send me a Zambian jersey,I will wear it to console the Chipolopolo
mwansa mulenga asked:
Mamadou is the dullest soccer analyst this continent has ever had.you need to have great respect for football.besides football is palyed on the pitch for 90 minutes...the elephants are in for iy
@RealMamadouGaye answered:
Unfortunately for you an elephant is too big to fry
Regis Mtero asked:
1stly i want to appreciate your unbiased views and opinions you share dhen u are part of the panel on SS. my question is with respect to this years AFCON that u ar about to win and the group perfomances...hw well do you think the Elephants wud have played if Nigeria Egypt and Cameroun wer present....!!!!
@RealMamadouGaye answered:
Nigeria,Egypte and Camerron were beating and could not qualify.Let's not talk about them.They may not even qualify again for Afcon 2013
Keagile asked:
I disagree,I PERSONALLY THINK ZAMBIA WILL DO IT CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT THEY PLAY COLLECTIVELY AS A TEAM AND THEY ARE THE ONLY TEAM WHO SHOWED DISCIPLINE SO FAR IN THIS TOURNAMENT SO WHAT MAMADOU HAS PREDICTED MIGHT BE THE OTHER WAY AROUND.MUCH HAS BEEN EXPECTED FROM THE ELEPHANTS AND WE HAVE NOT SEEN WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM THEM ACCEPT THE LAST GAME THEY PLAYED BUT EVEN THE VICTORY WAS NOT THAT CONVINCING LOOKING AT THE FACT THAT THERE ARE PLAYERS PLAYING FOR BIG TEAMS IN EUROPE.SO ILL GIVE IT TO ZAMBIA
@RealMamadouGaye answered:
Zambia 0 Cote d"Ivoire 4
Bantu asked:
Mamadou:I personally think that Zambia have played well till now, they can''t expect to win this coming Sunday,Don''t you think that now in Africa we do have a team (Ivory Coast)that can go all the way to the 2014 World Cup Semi-finals or even Finals, especially if they don''t fire the current coach.
@RealMamadouGaye answered:
The probleme of Ivory has been discipline.Now that belong to the past with the new management.You can see it through their perfect record in this Afcon.Chipolopolo Beware,the Elephants are coming
brightdialogue asked:
if Ivory Coast, go for those 4 goals then forget cause that''s the system that has made them the biggest underachievers of African football. Therefore, the most realist prediction would be a narrow win for either side and that should be for Zambia. If you don''t believe me, ask Daniel Amokache.
@RealMamadouGaye answered:
South African Football has adopted Mediocratiie as their motto.After 100 years of Fifa world cup,Bafana Bafana disgraced SA and Africa by been the first host nation to be knocked out in the first round.Safa celebrated the performance and kept Pitso in.Bafana became the first team to dance after failing to qualify for the afcon2012.Safa celebrated and Pitso the lead dancer is still in the job.
Jeff asked:
Mamadou, i must say i really admire your guts, the last time i checked its Zambia that beat Senegal and Ghana both teams with a much higher rating and better players (on paper), no doubt CIV are superior (on paper again) but Sunday will be about whose ready for battle. Its a David and Goliath kind of thing...
@RealMamadouGaye answered:
No David and Goliath.The best team of the tournament called Elephants wil win
Wela asked:
Why do you think that Gordon and Gavin Hunt are better coaches? Looking at the number of top coaches that Bafana have had do you not think that the problem is not with the coaches but the players? For example Bafana should have beaten Egypt in Cairo when Mphela and Segolela missed easy chances. What role would exporting SA players overseas at a young age have on the national team?
@RealMamadouGaye answered:
The coach select the players.SA must do like every nation in this world.SA have the biggest white community in Africa.Why not go to England,Germany,Portugal etc.. and bring all those South African from european decent?Ivory is doing it.Ghana is doing it,France,Germany as well
Kajila asked:
Hi there,

I ve read your reactions to the questions posted so far.

I must state that I ve not observed any analysis but probably fanaticism. An analyst should break the match to pieces e.g tactics, weaknesses and strengths of each team and ultimately a conclusion.WHICH YOU VE NOT DONE. PLEASE GIVE US THE SCIENTIFIC ANALYSIS NOT YOUR OPINION.
@RealMamadouGaye answered:
Cote D'Ivoire 5 games 5 wins,no goal conceded
