No quit threat for Niger coach
Following their opening match against Gabon, Niger’s assistant coach Rolland Courbis has denied quitting his role in the team after falling out with Harouna Douala.
Niger came out second best during their match against Gabon, in which they lost 2-0, and has since raised questions about whether the two coaches will continue to work alongside each other after having a public spat.
The Frenchman and former Marseille coach has since downplayed the issue about the argument following their opening Group D match.
“Where there are two parties involved, there will always be difference.
“If we can agree on 95 percent and don’t agree on 5 percent of team tactics, then it is ok. It means both of us are trying to find a solution. We have 23 different players to handle.”
There have been whispers around the camp that Courbis accused Douala of not keeping him involved in technical matters.
