Stars promised at least $100K to win Afcon

The Ghana Football Association president has announced fantastic bonuses for the national team in their quest to win the African Cup.

Each Black Stars player going to Gabon and Equatorial Guinea will get $15000 for each win with a draw netting them $10,000. The package could rise to a staggering US$ 100,000 or more for each player if they manage to win the trophy.

According GFA boss Kwasi Nyantakyi the incentive is a motivation for the players to bring the Cup home after a 30 year wait. He told local station Joy FM: “There bonuses paid this time is an improvement of the one paid at the last edition. These incentives are performance-based to ensure that the players are duly rewarded for doing a good job.”

The Black Stars are drawn in Group D alongside Botswana, Guinea and Mali.
