Matsi missing for top of table clash
Mpho Matsi is the only significant absentee for Cape Town City as they take on Bidvest Wits in their key Absa Premiership clash on Wednesday, coach Eric Tinkler confirmed.
Matsi, 27, suffered a hamstring injury in action for City against Chippa United in Cape Town on April 3 and not been able to play since.
But his midfield partner Roland Putsche is back after being suspended for the club’s last game – a 4-2 win away at Platinum Stars that put City top of the standings.
City also have Mozambican international fullback Edmilson back from a knee injury, the coach added. He was hurt playing against amateurs Acornbush in the first round of the Nedbank Cup in March.
City start Wednesday’s key tussle one point ahead of Bidvest Wits as both chase a first-ever title. But Wits have played two games fewer.
