Masenamela missing as old teammates come calling

Punch Masenamela will miss out on reunion with his former Kaizer Chiefs teammates when Baroka FC host the title chasing AmaKhosi in the Absa Premiership at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

Masenamela was sent off last Saturday in Cape Town in the Nedbank Cup and this weekend begins a two match ban, that will also include Baroka’s game against SuperSport United away on April 2.

The 30-year-old fullback, who has been playing in central defence for the struggling Baroka since joining them in recent weeks, was in the Chiefs side that lost to Baroka in the Nedbank Cup in April 2011.

That shock win remains one of the biggest upset in South African soccer history.

Masenamela was recently signed to boost Baroka’s chances of avoiding a quick return down to the National First Division.
