Gould blow for Chiefs title chase
Kaizer Chiefs’ title challenge has dealt a heavy blow following the news that tough-as-teak defender Morgan Gould’s season could well be over.
Gould was stretchered off in Amakhosi’s 1-1 draw against Golden Arrows on Saturday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium and, according to the team physiotherapist Dave Milner, the injury is more serious than he had thought.
"Initially it was thought it was just a ligament. A scan back in Joburg showed that he has damaged his ligament and cartilage. He will most likely be out for the rest of the season," Milner told the Chiefs website.
Gould recently returned from a five-month layoff with an Achilles injury, which caused him to miss the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in January.
