Ajax seek victory over Celtic

Ajax Cape Town will look to bounce back from defeat when they host Bloemfontein Celtic in the Absa Premiership at Athlone Stadium on Tuesday, kick-off at 7:30pm.

Ajax suffered a third loss from their last four matches when they were beaten 3-0 away to Platinum Stars on the weekend.

The Cape Town side will be looking to improve on a home record which has seen them win three of eight matches.

The Urban Warriors are placed 15th on the Absa Premiership log with 16 points from 18 matches.

Celtic come into the game having picked up their biggest win of the season over the weekend, a 3-0 home triumph over Bidvest Wits.

The Bloemfontein side has struggled away from home, however, having claimed just one win from nine matches on the road.

Phunya Sele Sele are placed sixth on the Absa Premiership log with 24 points from 18 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Ajax and Celtic have met in 21 league games since 1999/2000.

Each side has claimed eight wins against one another and there has been five draws.

Ajax have a great home record against Celtic, with seven wins and just one loss from 10 matches.

When the teams met earlier this season, Phunya Sele Sele claimed a 2-1 home victory thanks to goals from Lennox Bacela and Manzini.
