Khenyeza hopes for Ajax return

Mabhuti Khenyeza has opened talks with Ajax Cape Town over a return to the club in a swap deal that will see Bradley Grobler move to SuperSport United.

The two clubs have agreed to the switch and all that is left is for the players to sign their contracts with the respective teams.

Khenyeza, who was reported as AWOL from SuperSport training earlier this month, says he is relishing the opportunity to return to the Urban Warriors.

"I am excited at the possibility of becoming an Urban Warrior again. I had a good time during my previous stay in Cape Town and will be hoping to finalise the move after talks with the club,” he said.

Khenyeza had his best PSL season with Ajax in the 2008/09 season, netting 16 Absa Premiership goals. He left at the end of that campaign after a fall-out with coach Muhsin Ertugral, joining Mamelodi Sundowns, where he failed find the back of the net on a regular basis. He joined SuperSport in January 2012, but has never been a regular with Matsatsantsa.

The 30-year-old has also previously played for Lamontville Golden Arrows and Kaizer Chiefs.
