Ajax negotiate extension of pair’s contract
Negotiations to extend the contracts of Paul Rusike and Nhlanhla Vilakazi at Ajax Cape Town are underway, the club’s chief executive officer George Comitis said on Saturday.
Both have deals that come to an end at the end of the season but Ajax want them to stay at the club.
Talks with Rusike had been set for late last year but were delayed while Ajax waited to see the outcome of the Asiagate scandal in which the Zimbabwe international was implicated.
Rusike has since been fined for his part in the match fixing saga.
Comitis said Ajax will also be going into the transfer market to beef up their squad as they seek to move put of their current relegation quagmire.
“We will need to beef-up our squad. We have been talking to a few clubs and will definitely have new faces in our squad ahead of the second half on the 2012/2013 season,” Comitis said.
“I have met with my technical team and identified the areas of our squad that needs to be improved,” he added.
