Grobler doubtful, Van de Laak out

Striker Bradley Grobler is doubtful and midfielder Koen van de Laak back on the injury list as struggling Ajax Cape Town prepare to take on Bidvest Wits in their next Absa Premiership match on Tuesday.

Grobler is struggling with a knee complaint and his fitness will be assessed over the weekend before Ajax decide whether to take him on the trip to Johannesburg.

But Van de Laak will certainly not to travel, coach Jan Pruijn told a press conference on Friday.

Van de Laak looks to have suffered a relapse of the injury that saw him go off for what was supposed to be minor knee surgery last month.

He lasted just seven minutes on the field on his return after missing the last five games for the club.

Pruijn said he was hoping the good pitch at Milpark would help Ajax’s cause in Tuesday's game. “We both lost our last games but it's a nice field and it's suits our passing game that we are used to,” he said.

But Pruijn, still acting as caretaker, suggested a point would be success of sorts for Ajax who have tumbled down to 13th place with just two wins from 10 matches this season.
