Ajax Cape Town sack Stekelenburg
Ajax Cape Town on Tuesday announced that they have parted ways with coach Maarten Stekelenburg.
Ajax CEO George Comitis said, "As of today, coach Maarten Stekelenburg will no longer be the head coach of Ajax Cape Town.
"Maarten had the support of the players; unfortunately recent results forced our hand. The team went 19 games with only three wins and we had to make a change before it was too late."
Comitis said that they would take their time finding the right replacement.
"This club needs someone who believes in our philosophy. It's a big decision and we need to make the correct choice.
"Wilfred Mugeyi and Jan Pruijn will be in charge of the team for the game against AmaZulu".
The club hopes to make an announcement regarding a new coach before the game against Mamelodi Sundowns on 27 October.
