Ex-AmaZulu star Biyela dies



Former AmaZulu and Mpumalanga Black Aces midfielder Bafo Biyela had died, after an illness. He was 31 years old.

The Empangeni-born anchorman was reportedly ill and his death was confirmed by the Durban-based club through their Twitter account. He joined AmaZulu in 2005 and made over 70 appearances for Usuthu. He was briefly loaned out to Mpumalanga Black Aces.

“We're saddened by the news of the passing of AmaZulu former midfielder Bafo Biyela. May his soul R.I.P,” Usuthu said on Twitter.

Biyela's death comes barely two years since his father died in January last year.
