Ajax to offer season tickets
Ajax Cape Town are to become the first Premier Soccer League clubs to offer season tickets to supporters and have unveiled a package for the Cape Town fans.
The club are offering their next 13 home games for a combined price of R1099, which includes a free replica jersey.
Ten of the matches will be played at the Cape Town Stadium and three at the Athlone Stadium, when the city’s main venue is unavailable.
For the matches at the Cape Town Stadium, the season ticket holder will be able to select his seat in a demarcated area in the main grandstand.
“It will be well secured and will have ushers to guide the patrons to their seats,” said Ajax chief executive officer George Comitis, as he launched the new concept.
He said the value of the ticket package was R1600 in total, so the price being offered represented a significant discount.
“We will also have all of the tickets ready for the rest of the season so when the supporter comes to buy his or her season ticket package, they get all the tickets in one go plus the jersey,” added Comitis.
The season tickets will not include cup matches. Ajax are forced to move to Athlone this season their home games against Bidvest Wits, Free State Stars and Lamontville Golden Arrows.
Ajax are also offering packages to corporates for the use of the suites at the Cape Town Stadium.
“But we won’t be selling just one game to a company, so they only come for example when (Kaizer) Chiefs or (Orlando) Pirates are in town. Companies must buy a package of at least a minimum of three games. We are going to target a lot of companies,” Comitis added.
Many PSL clubs have talked about season ticket packages for their fans in the past but few programmes have ever previously been launched. All clubs currently sell tickets on a match-by-match basis.
