Anxious wait for Gaxa ahead of Downs clash
Kaizer Chiefs defender Siboniso Gaxa was expected to see a doctor on Monday to ascertain whether he was ready for action in a mouth-watering league clash against Mamelodi Sundowns at Soccer City on Wednesday.
The match kicks off at 7:30pm and will be televised exclusively live on SS4 and SS HD2, also available on live streaming right here.
The KwaZulu/Natal-born utility defender sustained a groin injury in the 4-1 defeat against Sundowns in the MTN8 and subsequently missed the trip to Durban against AmaZulu.
“Gaxa joined the team for full training on Monday and looked sharp. We do not want to risk and he will see a doctor this afternoon and we will take it from there,” team physiotherapist Dave Milner said in an interview with the club’s official website.
Meanwhile, George Lebese, who sustained a knee injury against Orlando Pirates in the Black Label Cup, is ready for action this Wednesday. "I have been training for the past three days and I am available for selection for the Sundowns game," said Lebese.
