Stars complete Moloto deal

Platinum Stars have signed Jomo Cosmos defender Tshepo Moloto after a successful trial with the club.

The 23-year-old had also recently had trials in Vietnam, but failed to win a contract and will be hoping to resurrect his career with Dikwena.

Moloto made his PSL debut for Jomo Cosmos in the 2006/07 season having joined from Vodacom League side Robertsham Callies, but never managed to nail down a first-team spot.

His made just 23 starts for the club in five seasons at Ezenkosi, including 10 last campaign as he helped the team win promotion back to the Absa premiership.

However, he was deemed surplus to requirements by coach Jomo Sono and allowed to seek employment elsewhere.

He is the fifth signing of the transfer window for Stars coach Owen da Gama, who has also brought in the Orlando Pirates quartet of Mduduzi Nyanda, Lucas Thwala, Patrick Malokase and Chiukepo Msowoya.

Stars have been desperate to bolster their ranks after a poor first half of the season that sees them with just 13 points from their first 15 games, three points above second-bottom Black Leopards in the relegation play-off place.
