SuperSport register Zongo

SuperSport United have registered wayward star Masibusane Zongo for the second half of the 2011/12 PSL campaign.

Zongo had been out in the cold at Matsantsantsa after a fallout with coach Gavin Hunt over his off-field behaviour.

The 21-year-old returned to training with SuperSport earlier this month in the hope of proving to Hunt that he has mended his ways and seems to have achieved that goal after his registration was confirmed by the PSL.

Zongo had been tipped as a future Bafana Bafana star when he made his PSL debut in the 2008/09 season and was also a cornerstone of the national junior teams until his off-field behaviour started affecting him on the pitch.

The left-winger was loaned to Vasco da Gama for the 2010/11 season but made just three starts for them before deciding to leave the club in February.

He had been in limbo for the first half of this campaign, still contracted to SuperSport but with no club willing to take him either on loan or in a permanent deal.

Hunt has decided to give him another chance in the hope that he can be rehabilitated and help the side in the quest to regain the Absa Premiership trophy this season.
