Cosmos set to sign Haskins

Jomo Cosmos owner and head coach, Jomo Sono, said on Wednesday that the club could possibly sign one of its former players, Mark Haskins, before the close of the mid-season transfer window.

Haskins, presently playing for Bidvest Wits, has been the subject of speculations alongside his former Ezenkosi colleague Russell Mwafulirwa as Sono looks to add more firepower to his forward-line.

In a question and answer session featured on SuperSport.com, the former Bafana Bafana boss confirmed that Cosmos was busy in talks with Haskins, a product of Jomo Cosmos Academy.

“Yes, we are busy talking to Mark Haskins. We are also talking to Russell Mwafulirwa. They are two of my old players,” Sono told the club's official website.

He ruled out the possibility of giving trialists a chance to try out at Cosmos during the transfer window, stressing a lack of time.

“No, no trialists, no. We can’t use this time to look at trialists now. Considering where we are at the moment we can’t look at trialists for now, there’s no time for that.”
