Aruwah's permit papers sorted out

Maritzburg United officials could afford to flash a little smile this week after work permit papers for Ghanaian midfielder-cum-defender John Aruwah were finally sorted out.

The Midlands outfit will host Kaizer Chiefs at Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg next Wednesday night.

Aruwah missed United's Absa Premiership opener, the last gasp 3-2 defeat by AmaZulu last weekend in Durban.

After the game, coach Ernst Middendorp bemoaned the absence of Aruwah, saying he had planned to play him alongside Diouf Mor at the back, owing to trusted central defenders being unavailable.

Instead the German coach threw in new signing David Booysen, who struggled to contain AmaZulu forward Ayanda Dlamini, who scored two goals on the day.

Khan further revealed that all three key players (midfielder Kurt Leintjies, wingers Rudolf Bester and Felix Obada), who sustained injuries in the AmaZulu game, have started light training.
