Johannes finally signs for Pirates

Sundowns defender Robyn Johannes has signed a three year deal with the Soweto giants Orlando Pirates on Tuesday. The move will see Johannes play alongside his former teammate Benson Mhlongo.

Johannes was quoted last season as pleading with Sundowns to release him, after spending some time on the bench.

Johannes joined the Chloorkop side five years ago.

He was part of the Pretoria side's squad that won back to back titles in 2005/06 and 2006/07.

However, his contribution was limited through injury.

Sundowns spokesman Alex Shakoane confirmed the latest movement.

"Robyn is now with Pirates and Gareth Ncaca has moved to Moroka Swallows."
