Indomitable Lions under guard

The Cameroon national team has been receiving harsh treatment from disgruntled fans since their return to the country.
Angry fans booed and shamed the players after their 1-2 defeat on Sunday, June 10. They however singled out Eric Maxim Choupo Moting, the new Indomitable Lions goal getter, for praise.
Considering the tense atmosphere in the nation’s capital Yaounde, the team is being heavily guarded by the police.
Fans who turned up for the Lions’ training on Tuesday, June 12, at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium gave the team the full length of their anger. They continuously booed Coach Denis Lavagne and his boys.
The national team is now under pressure to win Saturday’s match against Guinea Bissau, counting for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. The Lions beat the Guineans in the away leg and their rivals don’t seem to be tough enough to pose them a serious threat in Yaounde.
No major injury has been reported yet in the squad as Lavagne hopes to record his first win after he signed his one year contract with the Cameroon government.
