Five month window for Lavagne

The coach of Cameroon’s selection Denis Lavagne has signed a one-year contract, with a possibility of a renewal if he meets with the terms of the contract.

The document says the coach has to qualify the team for the 2013 Afcon in South Africa and the 2014 world cup in Brazil. Also, he has to assure Cameroon’s re-entry into the top twenty teams on the Fifa classification table.

Reading the terms of reference this Monday, sports minister Adoum Garoua said the contracts runs from the 1st of November 2011 to the 31st of October 2012. Meaning lavagne has just 5 months remaining to convince his bosses for a renewal or leave the den.

Though the coache’s monthly remuneration was not announced, SuperSports.com learnt that he will receive 10 million francs ($20.000) per month, and is expected to stay in Cameroon as against his predecessors who came to Cameroon only when there was a game in view
