opportunity: DStv Online - Network Operations Centre Controller (supersprt.com)

where anything is possible! We’re looking for Network Operations Centre
(NOC) Controllers who are happy to do shift work, mostly over weekends
when sport is at its busiest. We
need two NOC Controllers to monitor all of
supersport.com's live offerings in great detail, and we’re hoping you
might be one of them.
Please note that successful applicants will be appointed on an
independent contract basis for 6 months. Subject to performance, the
contract can be renewed.

This is what you’ll be
getting up to
Aside from being a great companion to some of the coolest people around
(ie: us), you’ll also have a
host of roles and responsibilities, such as:
- Perform accurate monitoring on supersport.com’s core
products, including websites, mobi site and especially various
applications
- Ensure active participation on the usability and
reliability of these products
- Able to identify and escalate technical failures or issues
as well as being able to log and assign Service Requests
- Ensure effective logging and reporting of incidents
- Provide feedback on reported incidents
- Escalate incidents to the relevant departments,
stakeholders or businesses
- Responsible for tracking progress and chasing of incidents
to conclusion, in line with SLAs and quality standards
- Escalation of all customer incidents/faults – able to
follow escalation processes to management on critical customer
incidents, associated customer communication, activities and any
appropriate escalations
- Provide incident sequence of events information on all
critical issues to relevant stakeholders
- Ensure that Customer Relationship and Service Reviews are
maintained
- Provide management and performance reports to an agreed
schedule
- Ensure that all Third Party Suppliers SLAs are maintained
- Ensure performance and provision of services and quality is
in line with expectations and enables DStv Online to meet or exceed
service levels
- Continually measure, monitor and work to drive down
Incident Levels
- Responsible for following all working practices and
processes
- Understanding of Service Desk Knowledge Monitoring Tools
with practices in order to provide a more effective and efficient
service to customers

In order to best slot into this role, you’ll need to back yourself up
with of a wealth of knowledge. This will cover the following areas:
- Comprehensive sports knowledge of mainstream sports
- Multi-platform technologies and functionality
- Excellent knowledge and use of Internet technologies,
including Social Media
- Service Provider Hosting Systems
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT
- Version control of software and documentation
- Inventory systems
