Tjallingii out of Tour with fractured hip

Dutch rider Maarten Tjallingii has been forced to withdraw from the Tour de France after fracturing his hip in Tuesday's third stage, his Rabobank team confirmed.

The rider fell 60km from the stage finish and was transported to hospital in Amersfoort in the Netherlands where he will undergo surgery.

He becomes the third rider to pull out of the race after Belarussian Kanstantsin Sivtsov (Sky) and Spaniard Jose Joaquin Rojas (Movistar) also abandoned on Tuesday.
