Valverde claims Andalusia title

Alejandro Valverde claimed overall victory in the Tour of Andalusia after also sealing his second stage win on the final day of the four-stage tour on Wednesday.

The 2009 Vuelta de Espana champion continued his strong start to the season having also won a stage at the Mallorca Challenge a fortnight ago and led the standings from start to finish after claiming victory in the prologue on day one.

The Movistar rider was joined on the podium at the end of the 183km Lucena to Rincon de la Victoria stage by Slovenian Simon Spilak in second and Italian Davide Rebellin in third.
