Tyler Farrar to ride in Tour Down Under

American sprinter Tyler Farrar will make his comeback from injury this month in cycling's Tour Down Under, first event of the 2013 ProTour.

Farrar hasn't raced since September when he suffered concussion in a fall during the Tour of Britain. His strong 2012 season had previously included stage wins in the US Pro Cycling Challenge, the Tour of Utah and the Giro d'Italia.

Farrar, who first rode the Australian tour in 2011, was confirmed on Friday as a member of the Garmin Sharp team for the six-stage road race, based around Adelaide in South Australia and starting January 20.

Spanish brothers Gorka and Jon Izaguirre were also named on Friday among the Euskaltel Euskadi team for the 15th edition of the race.
